Overly Kinetic is a game development team formed by my friends and I to apply to Dare to Be Digital 2014, a game design competition in Scotland. I assisted in the inception and design of our pitch game concept, Chambara, and handled the production of the pitch video. During development, I created 3D and 2D art assets and contributed to the overall design of the game.

Our efforts were greatly rewarded. We were honored when Chambara and our team was accepted to Dare, and we spent 8 weeks over the summer developing the game at Abertay University.

When the game was finished, we showcased it with the rest of the participants' finished projects at Dare Protoplay. Our game was played by the public and brought joy to young and old alike. At the same time, we were being judged as potential candidates for one of several awards to be given out that Sunday.

We are proud and honored to say that Chambara, along with three other Dare projects, was awarded a cash prize and a nomination for BAFTA's One's to Watch award.

For more information, check out the Chambara website.

Chambara is a game about stealth, but not the kind of stealth most games go for. Stealth in Chambara is not about looking for shadows to hide in, but rather looking for certain color spaces where your character will be hidden. View the pitch video for details.

We're excited to play with level design in Chambara. I personally look forward to visual and audio design for the game, and we're all very passionate about this concept.
