Glitch. Fire is a vertical platforming game in which each level is made up of a series of spinning disks with openings in them. The player must quickly navigate to the top of the level before a steadily-rising fire consumes them.

This was the final project for our Introduction to Game Development course and was developed in Unity. I used Photoshop for the textures and Maya to model each platform. We were a team of three: Kevin Wong, Max Pittsley, and I.

Glitch.Fire has been submitted to the 2013 Holiday Game Jam, hosted by Glitch City, under the team name Missing Semicolon. We are also looking to adapt Glitch.Fire for mobile and Ouya.

Level 1

Level 1

Each level begins with an attractive pan of the camera down the level. The camera takes its place behind the player, a simple white sphere, and gameplay begins. We added instructional text into the background to teach the player how to move, but we want to create an official tutorial level at some point.

Level 2

Level 2

Every level is designed with different colors and textures. This level uses colors much darker than the warm and cool contrasts of the first level.

Level 3

Level 3

This is currently the final level of the game. A starry background and plain white cartoon line shader on the platforms gives it an almost ethereal presence. The music for this level adds to that aesthetic.
